Womens Veterans

In 2020, Attorney Brooks realized that there were more than 2 million women veterans in the United States. However, according to VA’s 2021 Annual Benefits Report, only 584,583 were receiving VA disability compensation. She also reviewed VA’s recent Women Veterans Report and it lists the most common disabilities among women veterans, which includes gynecological disabilities.

According to VA’s 2021 Annual Benefits Report, 26,431 women veterans had the complete removal of their uterus; 18,669 women veterans had the complete removal of their ovaries and uterus; and 19,672 women veterans suffer from a disease or injury of the ovary. The total of ALL gynecological disabilities is 167,913. Therefore, based on the data, nearly 30 percent of women veterans who have a service-connected disability suffer from a gynecological disability.
